At Gary’s Automotive Again, we don’t just fix cars–we take care of people. Located in North Dinwiddie, VA, we’ve proudly served our community and surrounding areas since 1999. As the longest-standing auto repair business in the county, we’ve built a reputation based on honesty, transparency, and a genuine desire to help our neighbors stay safe.
A Story That Drives Us
Our shop owner, Gary Groux, didn’t get into auto repair for money. His journey started with a wrench in one hand and a purpose in his heart. Originally operating as a mobile mechanic under the name Gary’s Automotive Service, he traveled across as many as five counties in a day, helping people wherever they were.
His passion for fairness and community came from a deeply personal place. Years ago, his mother was taken advantage of by a car repair shop. Despite her vehicle having only 15,000 miles, she was told it needed a complete front-end overhaul, repairs that were simply not necessary. That experience lit a fire in Gary. He vowed to open an auto repair shop in North Dinwiddie, VA, where people could be treated with respect and honesty, and integrity mattered more than the bottom line.
Gary says, “We don’t work for the money—we work for the people.” We treat every customer like family. You’ll find our team to be approachable, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to explain repairs and walk you through the process. It’s not uncommon for us to take you right into the shop so you can see firsthand what automotive services are needed.
Auto Repair Shop Serving Dinwiddie County
At Gary’s Automotive Again, we provide general auto repair for most makes and models, with a focus on domestic vehicles. Although we may not have the abilities/tools to rebuild engines/transmissions, we CAN replace the entire unit. Most of our engines and transmissions come from Jasper Engines and Transmissions with a reputable warranty, and also from Factory Engine Exchange. Our services cover just about everything else, including brakes, alignments, A/C service (R-1234yf and R-134a), tires, and Virginia State Inspections.
We’re ASE Certified, A/C Certified, Alignment Certified, and proud to be a Virginia State Inspection station. As a NAPA AutoCare Center, we offer a NAPA warranty on most repairs. Inside our waiting area, you’ll find coffee, Wi-Fi, a TV, and clean restrooms.
Our team of technicians continually learns and grows with the industry, utilizing the latest tools and techniques to deliver the best service possible. We’re proud members of NFIB, BBB, and CarFax, and part of a trusted network of repair professionals.
Community Involvement
We’re involved in local churches, fundraisers, and community events throughout North Dinwiddie and beyond. Gary is not only an auto pro-he’s a chicken tender (yes, the bird kind), an animal and nature lover, a lifelong martial artist, and a gymnastics coach. Family time and community service are big parts of who we are as a team. We are animal-friendly and have cats that roam our property.
